First things first: you don't always have a final design when you call us. Even the best designers need to prove out a concept first before giong to hard tooling.

So we are structured to turn your prototypes quickly. We stock a wide range of raw materials to turn your ideas into reality, fast. We use our precision waterjet prototyping center to make blanks as soon as we receive your CAD file. The blanks are then formed on our electric brake presses.

Beyond prototyping, some types of parts never justify the expense of hard tools. We have a variety of options to produce your lower-volume parts without high capital costs. How about a tool for $500, delivered in one week? Our "quickie die" program lets you get some of the cost advantages of hard-tooled parts. This program is also ideal for ramp-to-production quantities before hard tooling.

Since 1969, Scandic has been a leader in coil springs, fourslide stampings, precision progressive stampings, and CNC wireforming.

Scandic is the largest spring and stamping company in Northern California. Today our team includes multiple engineers, tool and die makers, and veteran technicians who understand all spring materials.

For inspection-intensive processes, we have automated comparators that measure 100% of all features, on multiple samples, and output the data to statistical analysis programs. This allows us to efficiently assemble PPAP submissions. Scandic now produces larger sheetmetal stampings (to 20 inches wide), in-die tapping on your stamped parts, and automatic hardware insertion.

The kinds of parts we make for our customers include battery contacts, EMI shielding, ESD contacts, spring clips, latches and retainers, and belleville washers.

We have particular expertise in working with spring materials such as beryllium copper, which are heat-treated after forming to attain their highest spring temper.
